Singing lessons are designed to suit you. My approach is simple, adaptable and unique, offering unfailing support. I'll show you how to increase your vocal power in all areas. The focus is on both technical exercises including breath control, singing in tune, improving your singing tone, extending your vocal range, how to sing with an opera voice and learning songs for your voice type. I'm able to coach in most European languages.
I was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music and gained my diploma in 1988, presented by Diana Princess of Wales. I then sang as a soloist at most of the major UK venues including English National Opera, Royal Opera House and Garsington Opera. I now work as a Singing Coach and run The Helen Astrid Singing Academy in London.
My experience in voice production ranges from performances in opera to musical theatre e.g. 'The Phantom of the Opera'. I have expert knowledge in vocal repertoire covering all styles from classical singing to musical singing, combined with a straightforward teaching technique and endless enthusiasm. My students have all developed to their fullest vocal potential and range from complete beginners who think they're tone-deaf, to professional singers including members from Abba tribute band Bjorn Again, legendary rock band Thin Lizzy to members of the Saudi Royal Family.
