Helen was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music and gained her diploma in 1988, presented by Diana Princess of Wales. She enjoys a career singing light lyric soprano roles, performing at most of the major UK venues including English National Opera, Royal Opera House and Garsington Opera. She also teaches singing and facilitates corporate workshops with The Helen Astrid Singing Academy. Her experience ranges from performances in the classical repertoire and
in music theatre e.g. 'The Phantom of the Opera', the best musical
in town. She has expert knowledge in classical vocal repertoire and
combines a striaghtforward teaching technique with endless enthusiasm.
Her students range from complete beginners who think they're tone-deaf,
to professional singers, such as members of the Abba tribute band Bjorn
Again and legendary rock band Thin
Lizzy.
